e-Government
eGov
The Open Kvarken project has chosen the Idega platform for testing eGov solutions in our region.
There are several reasons to this:
- Idega uses only Open Source components and is flexible. http://www.idega.org/
- Idega has an open repository at Github http://github.com/idega
- Components from the repository can be reused in our region. This will lower development costs and speed up development time.
- The Idega platform is based on the citizen register and focuses on the citizen and his needs of contact and information with the local authorities.
- The idega platform will not only provide e-forms but processes the e-form in internal workflows.
- Idega wants to provide consultation and assistance to local partners and train them to use the platform in Workshops.
- This will ensure equal access to knowhow and competition among local IT companies.
- This is the optimal solution to the public sector for open tenders: Every IT company that participates in the tender has to use the same software and the public sector will never again be locked to one provider. If you are not content with your provider you can change providers by a new tender.
The Open Kvarken arranged a Workshop on the Idega platform for local IT companies 6.5.2010. A new Workshops is planned September 15-16 2010. Paticipation in Idega workshops is free and a precondition to particpating in our tenders.
A web based citizens portal is currently developed and will be tested in cooperation with Vörå-Maxmo. More tenders are planned for the Idega open platform. Contact us if your IT company is interested in participating in our Idega Workshops!
